i went for my guzheng exam today i'm taking grade 8 this year i've been practising since o levels ended i've practised for more than 4 hours per day so basicially my afternoons are spent on practising guzheng 'cause before that i'm concentrating on o levels so i must practise extra hard to make it up i went there about 1 hour before, and brought my own guzheng there then i started practising my fingers were cold at first but when i kept on practising it becomes warmer and easier to move then later there's this man who came up to me he asked me: you play mo li fen fang? i said: yeah he asked: are you going to play with this guzheng when you go into the exam room? i replied: yeah he said: the tune is very off, i think you better don't use this lol! i know my guzheng was a bit off but i didn't think it was THAT off. i'm am utterly tone-deaf i kinda ignored him because i took my 0ff-tuned guzheng to my previous exam and i did not fail so i thought the guzheng being off-tune would not matter my exam was suppose to start on 2.35pm then i went for my aural exam first i have been practising for a week for this i got 2/10 for aural last year i thought this year would be better but no i was given 2 intervals i could try as many times as possible to identify the intervals until i get it correct but for every try, marks would be deducted so i'm a bit more confident than i was last year, because at least i practised then she gave me the first interval without the biao zhun yin my teacher always gives me the biao zhun yin, which is la so i asked her to give me, she said she don't give -.- ok fine so i tried many many times until i got the first interval correct i know i'm going to fail this aural exam again this year then the second interval was not any better i still had to try many many times i think i'm going to get 2 or 1/10 this year without a passs in aural, i can't get overall distinction already so after the aural exam i went back to the practice room to continue practising i was a bit disaappointed but i will still give my best then an hour after 2.35pm i was called to proceed to wait outside the exam room the usher came to call me i wanted to take my guzheng then he asked: are you going to take this to exam? i said: yes he said: really? 'cause it's way off-tune -.-! even the usher can tell!! i don't know if he takes guzheng also but i feel a bit i thought my guzheng was kinda off-tune but not that bad but there are two people who told me it was very off-tuned i said: it's not ok to bring this in meh? he said: of course not la, this is exam leh then i agreed to use the guzheng inside the exam room on the way there he asked: you don't find your guzheng very off-tuned meh i said: i knew it was a bit off-tuned but not that off he said: you're taking grade 8 already and you still can't tell? i said: yeah, i'm very bad at this !!! i'm so so so so tone-deaf!! so i've been practising with my off-tuned guzheng the whole time for everybody there to hear hahahaha!!! so he asked: how's your aural? i said: very bad and i got 2/10 last year then he said: usually, 2 is the lowest( i gave him the sarcastic-wow-what-a-comfort look) but today we have people worse than you i was actually quite comforted by that haha xin zhai le huo! the practical was okay i didn't shiver this time i was actually very calmed but i still made unnecessary mistakes then later the spontaneous piece was okay, it was quite easy i'm writing so much because iwanna remember this day this will probably be my last guzheng exam unless i'm taking diploma but! i must pass grade 8 first i actually have doubts if i can pass or not last time was: aiya surely can pass one now it's: can i pass? lol finally exam is over! i can do the things i wanna do! =D hope i can get a merit!
